Tate Modern-The Tanks
The tanks-Art in action is an oppurtunity for music and perfomrance art to be expressed as a form of fine art.
The curators wanted to create a sociable dimension through interaction and how contempory art has evolved, with a signifcance on space. They wanted to show the significance of performance art and how it has evolved.
I would have liked to have seen Haugue Yang's interactive sculptures that prvoke spontaneous choregraphy because i would have liked to have noted the different ways in which people moved/danced around the sculptures, despite their uncertanity and lack of rhymth, or so they may have thought.
Hepworth Museum-James Pyman
I would like to see the exhibition by James Pyman due to his method of work. I like extreme scale works in which you can see every technique and mark therefore i think his work would be very interesting to see as he has made a series of hand drawin illustrations of walls, which were then reproduced to life size scale to then wrap around the building.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park-Lynn Chadwick
I would like to see Lynn Chadwicks, cloacked Figures, as i feel they have a very eariness to them form the pictures therefore i feel they would be even stronger in person. He belonged to the group of artists called the geometry of fear at one point therefore i feel it would be a real experience to see his sculptures as i feel they would create a reaction and sensation, due to the scale, texture and location of the piece.
Site Gallery-Pilvi Takala
I would like to see Pilvia Takalas work at the site gallery due to the perfomrance art feature. I have only seen performance art once therefore i feel it would be a realy experience. Her focus is bizarre social situations therefore i think it would be really interesting to see the live responses aswell as the taped responses of the exhibition to compare. It is also said that she provokes the upspoken rules of society which i would like to see how exactly she does that and what methods she uses, aswell as what she thinks is socially bizarre and uacceptable.
Nottingham Contempory-Kafou:Haiti,Art and Vodou
I would like to see this exhibition as it would a nchance to see international art that i wouldnt otherwise get the chance to see. The colour palettes are very rich and varied therefore i think i would enjoy the exhibiton purely for that reason. Also it would be good to see how different contempory haiti art between 1940's to current day is, in comparison to english contempory art. I would also be interested in seeing the representations of vodou within the work and how these different artists paintings create spirtiual images.
