Fine Art Review
Fine Art Review
During the fne art taster week, we focused on shape and colour to create a series of experimental paintings. These were produced from drawing around projected shapes and using the objects themselves to apply paint. This created a very free method of painting which was quite liberating. The colour's used were also very experimental as i used a variety of colour s mixed to create greys, purples, blues and reds, most of which were used to contrast and compliment one another. The experimentation of colour was very important as i feel this is a skill i will need to take with me to my specialist area as colour is significant in creating a mood, message or representation.I liked the overall outcome of the series as i choose to use similiar objects to create similar shapes on each painting. Moreover the application of paint was interesting and the way in which i created texture was very interesting, the more application of paint the more textured and interesting the painting becomes, as i believe.Overall the fine art taster week was interesting in allowing me to really begin to understand the meaning of fine art as being a way of creating meaning and themes, by making useless things or aesthetically pleasing objects. I like the concept behind fine art but i dont think it is the specialist area for me as there are no jobs that i wish to do in this area, however, i could see myself creating series of works based on theme and messages rather than 3d assosiated work where i am creating a new product.
